TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Notice: The university will extend the library's opening hours during finals week, from the current 10 PM closing time to midnight. This change is intended to provide students with more study time. Additionally, the university will provide free coffee and tea in the library lobby from 8 PM to midnight during this period.

Woman: Did you see the notice about the library staying open later during finals? I think it's a great idea. Man: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, who studies that late? I think most students would rather sleep. Woman: But many students are night owls! I know a lot of my friends pull all-nighters. Having the library open till midnight gives us a quiet place to study without being in our dorms. Man: I guess that's true. But what about the free coffee? That might be a distraction. People will just hang out and chat. Woman: Actually, I think the coffee is helpful. It keeps us awake and focused. Plus, if they're serving it in the lobby, it won't disturb those studying inside. I think it's a win-win.
