TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/5 (Sunday night through Friday night) and introduce a new online booking system for study rooms. The change aims to accommodate students' diverse schedules and increase study space availability. The booking system will limit each student to two hours per day to ensure fair access.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's great! I often pull all-nighters before exams, and the current 10 p.m. closing time is way too early. Now I can study whenever I want. W: But what about the two-hour limit on study rooms? That's really short. Sometimes I need a whole afternoon to prepare for a group project, and we can't just switch rooms every two hours. M: Well, you can always use the quiet study areas without booking. The limit only applies to private rooms, which are usually crowded anyway. Plus, the 24/5 hours mean more overall space, so you can find a spot even if you don't get a room. W: I guess that makes sense, but I'm still worried about the booking system being complicated. Some older students might struggle with it. M: Actually, the online system is super user-friendly, and the library will offer tutorials. I think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
