托福口语 Task 2

Starting next semester, the university will extend the library's weekday hours from 10 PM to midnight. This change is intended to provide more study time for students, especially during exam periods. To accommodate the extended hours, the library will reduce its weekend opening hours from 10 AM-6 PM to 12 PM-6 PM. The university believes this adjustment will better meet students' needs.

Man: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I think it's a great idea! Woman: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, more hours on weekdays sounds good, but cutting weekend hours is a problem for me. Man: Why? Most students have classes on weekdays, but weekends are for relaxing or catching up on sleep. I rarely use the library on weekends. Woman: But I have a part-time job on weekdays, so I can only study on weekends. With the new weekend hours, I'll have less time to study, and that's when I need the library the most. Man: I see your point, but for me, the extra two hours on weekdays are perfect because I have a heavy course load and often stay late. Plus, I think the library will be less crowded on weeknights, so it's easier to focus. Woman: I understand you benefit, but it doesn't help everyone. I wish they had considered students with jobs like me.
