Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend the library's weekday hours from 10 PM to midnight. This change aims to provide more study time for students during finals and midterms. Additionally, the library will add a new quiet study floor on the third level to accommodate increased demand. The extended hours will be funded by a small increase in the student technology fee.

Woman: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's great! I always have to leave at 10 PM when I'm in the middle of studying. Extra two hours will really help me prepare for my exams. Man: I see the benefit, but I'm not thrilled about the fee increase. My budget is tight already. Woman: I get that, but it's only a few dollars per semester. And having a quiet floor is worth it. Sometimes the current quiet areas are too noisy, especially during midterms. I can't concentrate. Man: True, but I rarely use the library at night. I prefer studying in my dorm. So I feel like I'm paying for something I won't use. Woman: But many students will use it. And for those who do, it's a big help. The quiet floor will also benefit everyone, not just night owls. Man: I suppose. But I still think the university could have found other funding, like from the budget surplus. Woman: They explained the fee is the most straightforward way. I'm just glad they're listening to student requests.
