Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend the library's weekday hours to midnight. This change aims to accommodate students' late-night study needs. To fund this, the library will reduce its weekend hours, closing at 6 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The university believes this adjustment will better serve the majority of students.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I think it's a great idea. W: Really? I'm not so sure. I usually study at the library on weekends, especially on Sunday afternoons. Closing at 6 PM would cut my study time short. M: But think about it—most students have deadlines during the week, so late nights are more useful. Also, the library is usually crowded on weekday evenings, but on weekends it's half empty. Extending weekday hours makes sense. W: Well, I see your point about the crowds. But what about students who work part-time on weekends? They rely on weekend library time. M: That's true, but the library has other study spaces, like the student center, that are open later. I think this change helps more students overall. Plus, the longer weekday hours mean we can stay late after evening classes.
