Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend the library's weekday hours from 10:00 PM to midnight. This change aims to provide more study time for students, especially during exam periods. Additional funding will be allocated to hire more student assistants and increase security measures to ensure a safe and productive environment.

Woman: Did you see the email about the library staying open until midnight? I think it's a fantastic idea! Man: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, who really studies that late? Woman: Plenty of students do, especially during finals week. Last semester, I had to leave at 10 PM when I was in the middle of a project, and it was really disruptive. Man: But won't it cost too much? The announcement says they're hiring more assistants and adding security. That money could be used for new books or better computers. Woman: But the library already has those resources. What students need is more time to use them. Plus, having staff around late at night will make the library safer, which benefits everyone. Man: I guess I hadn't thought about the safety angle. But still, I think most students would prefer if they spent that money on updating the old study rooms. Woman: Well, I think the extended hours show that the university really listens to student needs. It's a change that will help a lot of us, not just during exams but all year round.
