🎧 Listening Conversation
M: Did you see the announcement about the new plant-based options in the dining halls? I'm really excited about it!
W: Actually, I'm not so sure. I mean, I'm all for sustainability, but I think this is going to cause problems.
M: What do you mean?
W: Well, first, the dining halls are already crowded at meal times. Adding more options will make the lines even longer, and students who want regular meals will have to wait more.
M: But they're just replacing some existing dishes, not adding more stations.
W: That's my second point. If they replace some of the popular dishes, like the pasta or the grilled chicken, students who don't like plant-based food will have fewer choices. And the price reduction doesn't help if the food isn't appealing.
M: I think it's a good step for the environment, though.
W: I get that, but the university should first ensure that the options are tasty and that there's enough variety for everyone.
