📖 Reading Passage
Campus Notice: New Library Hours Starting Next Semester
To better accommodate student needs, the library will extend its hours from 10 PM to midnight on weekdays starting next semester. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be added on the top level. These changes aim to provide more study space and flexibility for students. The extended hours will require additional staffing, funded by a small increase in student activity fees.

Man: Did you see the notice about the library? I think it's great that they're staying open later. I often have late classes and need a place to study after. The extra two hours would really help me finish my assignments without rushing.
Woman: I see your point, but I'm not so sure. The quiet floor is nice, but the fee increase bothers me. We already pay so much in fees, and not everyone uses the library at midnight. Those who do could just study in their dorms or use the 24-hour computer lab.
Man: But the computer lab is noisy and not good for concentrated reading. And for commuters like me, the dorm isn't an option. The later hours directly benefit students who work or have evening commitments.
Woman: I guess that's true. But still, I think the fee increase is unfair. Maybe they could cut costs elsewhere, like reducing the number of new books, instead of charging us more.
