托福口语 Task 2

Campus Notice: Starting next semester, the university library will extend its hours to 24/7 during finals week. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be added to reduce noise complaints. The library will also increase the number of group study rooms available for reservation.

Man: Did you see the new library announcement? I think it's a great idea, especially the 24/7 hours during finals. Last semester, I had to leave at midnight when I was in the middle of studying for my biology exam. That extra time would really help. Woman: True, but what about the new quiet floor? I feel like it's unnecessary. We already have designated quiet areas, and most students use headphones anyway. Plus, adding more group rooms might just mean more noise, not less. Man: Actually, I think the quiet floor is perfect. The current quiet areas are often crowded, and people still talk. A whole floor dedicated to silence would solve that. And for the group rooms, they're always fully booked, so more rooms mean less disturbance from groups in open areas. Woman: Hmm, I hadn't thought about that. I guess you're right—more group rooms could keep noisy discussions contained. I still worry about the cost, but I suppose it's worth it.
