托福口语 Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during finals week. Additionally, the library will now allow snacks and drinks in designated study areas on the first floor, to support students during long study sessions. The change aims to reduce stress and improve student performance during exams.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great idea. W: Really? I'm not so sure. Extending hours sounds nice, but who actually studies at 3 a.m.? I think it's a waste of resources. M: But many students pull all-nighters before finals. I've done it myself, and having the library open means a quieter, more focused environment than a dorm. W: I guess that's true. But the food policy bothers me. If they allow snacks, there will be crumbs and spills everywhere, and it might attract pests. M: They're only allowing it in designated areas, not the whole library. And those areas have easy-to-clean floors. Plus, students can stay energized without leaving the building. W: Still, I think it could get messy. But I see your point about the extended hours. Maybe it's not all bad.
