Campus Housing Office announces that, starting next semester, all first-year students will be required to live on campus. The policy aims to increase student engagement and improve academic support. To accommodate this change, the university will renovate two existing dormitories and add a new dining hall. Exemptions will be granted only for students living with immediate family within commuting distance.

Man: Did you see the email about the new on-campus living requirement? I think it's a terrible idea. Woman: Really? I thought it was meant to build a stronger community. Man: But it ignores the cost issue. Many first-years, like my brother, chose our university because they could live with relatives to save money. Now they'd be forced to pay high dorm fees, which is unfair. Woman: That's true. But what about academic support? Man: The dorms won't magically improve grades. Most freshmen already have study groups and use the library. The real problem is that the university hasn't added enough housing, so they'll overcrowd the dorms, making it worse for everyone. It's a rushed decision.
