Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during finals week. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be added to reduce noise distractions. The extension will require additional funding, which will be offset by a small increase in student activity fees.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great idea. Staying up late to study for finals is so common, and having 24/7 access would really help. I remember last year I had to leave at midnight when I was in the middle of reviewing. That quiet floor is also smart—sometimes I can't concentrate because of group discussions nearby. The fee increase is only a few dollars, and it's worth it for such a big improvement. What do you think? W: I see your point, but I'm not convinced. Most students can use the library during the day or evening, and only a few actually need it overnight. Adding staff and heating for those extra hours is expensive, and I doubt it's worth the fee hike. Plus, the quiet floor might not solve anything—students can already go to the upper floors for silence. The real issue is not enough study spaces overall, not just noise. So I think the money should be spent on more desks and chairs instead.
