Campus Announcement: Extended Library Hours during Finals Week. To accommodate students during the upcoming final exams, the university library will extend its operating hours to 24/7 starting from the Monday before finals week through the last day of exams. Additionally, the quiet study floors will be expanded to include the entire third floor, and free coffee will be provided in the lobby from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. each night.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library staying open all night during finals? I think it's a great idea. I often pull all-nighters before exams. W: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, the extended hours are fine, but the expanded quiet floor might be a problem. M: Why? More quiet space is good, right? W: Not really. The third floor is usually the group study area where students can talk and work on projects. Moving quiet study there will force group discussions into the noisier first floor, making it hard for everyone to concentrate. M: Ah, I see that point. But the free coffee is a plus for me. It will keep me awake without spending money. W: That's true, but I still think the quiet floor change is a bad idea. M: I hadn't considered that. Maybe you're right about that part, but overall I support the longer hours.
