Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during finals week and add a new quiet study floor. To fund this, student activity fees will increase by $20 per semester. The administration believes this will improve academic support and student satisfaction.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I'm really excited about the 24/7 hours during finals. Last semester, I had to leave at midnight right when I was in the zone. That extra time would be a lifesaver. W: I get that, but the fee increase bothers me. $20 more a semester adds up, especially for students on tight budgets. Plus, they're only extending hours during finals week, not the whole semester. I'd rather they used that money to fix the broken printers or add more study rooms during regular weeks. M: True, but I think the quiet floor is a great addition. The current library is so noisy. I often can't find a silent spot to concentrate. That new floor would really help students like me. W: I suppose, but I still think the fee increase is unfair. Many students never use the library late at night. Why should we all pay for something that only benefits a few? I'd rather see the university cut costs elsewhere or find other funding sources.
