Campus Notice: The university will extend the library's hours to 24/5 (Sunday night through Friday night) starting next semester. This change aims to accommodate students' diverse study schedules. To ensure safety and maintain the facility, all students must use their ID cards to enter the library after 10 PM. Security staff will be stationed at the entrance to monitor access. The extended hours will be funded by a small increase in the student activity fee.

W: Did you see the email about the library staying open all night during the week? I think it's a great idea. M: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, it sounds nice, but there are problems. W: Like what? M: First, the extra fee. I already pay enough for tuition and books. I don't want to pay more, especially when I rarely study at night. And many students feel the same way. W: But it's only a small increase, and it helps those who need it. M: Second, they say security will check IDs after 10 PM. That means if I forget my card, I can't even use the library in the evening. That's inconvenient. Plus, the security guards might make the place feel less welcoming. I think the university should focus on better daytime study spaces instead.
