W: But think about the staff. They'll have to work overtime, and the budget could be better spent on new books. Also, most students I know go home on weekends.
M: That may be true, but for those of us who stay, it's a huge help. And the library can hire part-time student workers to cover shifts, which creates jobs.
W: I guess that's a point, but I still think the demand isn't high enough.
M: Well, I disagree. I've seen many students turned away on Sunday evenings.
