Campus Announcement: The university will extend library hours from 10 p.m. to midnight on weekdays starting next semester. This change aims to provide more study time for students during exam periods. However, to cover the additional staffing and utility costs, the library will reduce its weekend hours from 5 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I'm not thrilled about it.
W: Really? I thought extending weekday hours would be great for studying.
M: Sure, but cutting weekend hours is a big problem. I usually use Saturday afternoons to work on group projects and do research. Losing those two hours means I have to rush or even come back on Sunday, which is less convenient.
W: I see your point. But the extra weekday time could help you during finals.
M: Not really. The library is already crowded on weekdays, and I can't focus with all the noise. I prefer quiet weekend mornings, but now they're shortened. Also, many students like me have part-time jobs on weekday evenings, so we can't use the extended hours anyway. It's a bad trade-off.
