The university has announced that the campus library will now close at 10 PM instead of midnight during weekdays to reduce operating costs. The hours will be shortened starting next semester. Additionally, students will be required to use their student ID cards to enter the library after 6 PM, a measure intended to enhance security.

Woman: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I can't believe they're cutting them back. Man: Yeah, I'm really against this. First, as a grad student, I often work late, and midnight closing already felt early. Now, 10 PM means I'll have to leave during my most productive hours. It's going to hurt my research progress. Second, the ID check after 6 PM is just a hassle. It will create long lines at the entrance, especially during exam weeks. That's not saving money; it's just wasting our time. I think they should find other ways to cut costs, like reducing energy use in less busy buildings.
