This change aims to accommodate students' varied study schedules and increase access to resources. To fund this, the library will reduce its weekend hours to 10 AM - 6 PM on Saturdays and remain closed on Sundays.

Woman: Did you see the library announcement? I'm thrilled about the 24/5 hours during the week! I often pull all-nighters before exams, and having the library open would be a lifesaver. Man: Really? I think it's a bad trade-off. I usually do my research and group projects on weekends. Closing on Sundays will hurt me a lot. Woman: But think about it—most students have weekday classes, so late-night access is more valuable. Plus, the reduced weekend hours mean they can hire more staff for night shifts, ensuring better security and help. Man: I get that, but Sunday is the only day I have free to study without interruptions. I could just use the dorm study lounge, but it's noisy. The library's quiet atmosphere is essential for my focus. Woman: Still, the majority of students I know struggle with weekday deadlines, not weekend ones. The new hours align better with academic peaks. Man: Maybe for you, but not for me. I'd rather have consistent weekend hours than late nights, which I rarely use.
