Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours from 10 PM to midnight on weekdays, and add a new quiet study floor on the third level. This change aims to accommodate increasing student demand for late-night study spaces and reduce noise complaints in the main reading room.

M: Did you see the email about the library staying open later? I think it's a terrible idea. W: Really? I thought it would be great for students who need more time to study. M: But the extra hours won't help if there's no staff to manage the new quiet floor. They're not hiring more librarians, so the existing staff will be stretched thin. W: True, but the quiet floor could be self-monitored with signs and security cameras. M: That's not enough. Also, extending hours will increase utility costs, and the university is already cutting budget for student services. I'd rather they spend that money on more tutoring programs. W: I see your point, but I think the late hours are more directly useful for many students. M: Well, I just think it's a waste of resources when we already have 24-hour study lounges in some dorms.
