Campus Announcement: New Extended Library Hours Starting Next Semester Starting next semester, the university library will extend its hours from 10 p.m. to midnight on weekdays, and will open at 10 a.m. instead of 12 p.m. on weekends. This change aims to provide more flexible study time for students. To accommodate the extended hours, the library will reduce the number of group study rooms available for booking by 20%.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I'm really excited about it. I often have late-night study sessions before exams, and having an extra two hours on weekdays will be a lifesaver. W: I see the benefit for you, but I'm not happy about the reduction in group study rooms. My study group meets twice a week, and it's already hard to book a room. With fewer rooms, it'll be even more frustrating. M: That's true, but I think most students study alone or in pairs, and the open study areas are usually not full. Also, the weekend opening at 10 a.m. means we can get an early start on projects instead of waiting until noon. W: I guess, but for group projects, having a scheduled room is crucial. We often need to spread out materials and discuss. I'd rather keep the same hours and have more rooms. M: I understand your concern, but I think the extended hours benefit more students overall.
