As central areas of many cities around the world are continually redeveloped to meet modern demands, historic building clusters often face demolition or complete renovation. However, others firmly believe that these old neighborhoods, which carry collective memories, are an inseparable part of a city's soul, and their value far exceeds that of newly constructed skyscrapers. Between preserving historical culture and advancing urban renewal, should city administrators unconditionally prioritize the former?
