However, the excessive concentration of urban populations has also triggered a series of problems, including housing shortages, traffic congestion, and social segregation. In addressing these challenges, some argue that governments should prioritize investment in improving the infrastructure and quality of life in existing cities, while others advocate for allocating resources to develop small and medium-sized towns in order to ease population pressure.
