In response to the escalating urban population explosion and the hollowing-out of rural areas, some urban planners argue that rather than investing heavily in revitalizing remote villages, resources should be concentrated on a few megacities to form more globally competitive economic clusters. Meanwhile, other sociologists warn that such "abandonment-style development" will exacerbate regional imbalances and ultimately undermine the sustainability of cities themselves. In your view, should urban and rural areas be managed as a "symbiotic ecosystem" rather than a "zero-sum game"? Please elaborate on your stance, providing specific reasons and examples to support your argument.
