As extreme weather events become increasingly frequent worldwide, some members of the public believe that individual environmental actions in daily life—such as waste sorting and reducing plastic use—are almost meaningless in mitigating climate change, and that real change can only depend on mandatory policies from governments and large corporations. However, others insist that it is precisely the accumulation of countless small individual choices that forms the social pressure and cultural foundation driving systemic transformation.
