However, some argue that requiring developing nations, which still face urgent needs for poverty eradication and economic growth, to shoulder equally stringent emission reduction obligations alongside developed countries is neither realistic nor fair. Others insist that climate change knows no borders, and that any delay will lead to irreversible catastrophe, so all nations must immediately take undifferentiated, maximum-intensity action.
