As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly prevalent in critical decision-making domains such as recruitment, credit approval, and criminal justice, algorithmic bias has come to be regarded as a new vehicle for systemic discrimination. However, some argue that, compared with the biases inherent in human decision-making, algorithms actually offer a more transparent and auditable opportunity for correction.
