Good morning, everyone. Today I'd like to continue our discussion on urban planning. As we know, cities are constantly evolving, but one key factor often overlooked is the role of small public spaces, like pocket parks. These tiny green areas, usually less than half a hectare, can significantly improve mental health and social interaction. However, their placement is crucial. According to a recent study, pocket parks are most effective when located within a ten-minute walk of residential areas, and they should include seating and shade to encourage longer visits. Interestingly, the study found that the presence of water features, like fountains, had less impact than expected, while dog-friendly zones were a major draw for daily users. So, when designing these spaces, planners should prioritize accessibility over aesthetics.
