Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to discuss the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems. Specifically, I want to focus on coral bleaching, which is a stress response caused by rising water temperatures. When the water gets too warm, corals expel the algae living in their tissues, causing them to turn completely white. This not only affects the corals themselves but also the fish that depend on them for shelter and food. Interestingly, some corals have shown resilience by adapting to warmer waters, but this adaptation is slow and may not keep pace with the rapid rate of temperature increase. Therefore, urgent action is needed to reduce carbon emissions.
