Today in our environmental science lecture, we'll discuss urban green spaces. Recent studies show that parks in cities not only improve air quality but also reduce stress levels among residents. Interestingly, a 2022 survey in London found that people living within 500 meters of a park reported 20% lower anxiety rates. However, the key factor isn't the size of the park but its accessibility. Small pocket parks, if well-maintained and open late, can be more beneficial than a single large park far from residential areas. Also, adding native plants attracts more biodiversity, which further enhances mental health benefits.
