Today we're going to discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study conducted in Melbourne followed over 2,000 residents for five years. Interestingly, the research found that people living within 300 meters of a park or garden reported significantly lower levels of stress and anxiety. However, the effect was strongest for those who visited the green space at least once a week. The study also noted that the quality of the green space, such as having benches and walking paths, mattered more than its sheer size. So, it's not just about having green areas, but about making them accessible and inviting for daily use.
