Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study conducted in Melbourne followed over 2,000 residents for five years. Interestingly, the research found that people living within 300 meters of a park or garden reported significantly lower levels of stress and anxiety. However, the benefit was only observed when the green space was well-maintained and had trees, not just grass. The study also noted that the positive effect was stronger for older adults, especially those over 65, compared to younger participants. So, while green spaces are generally beneficial, their design and upkeep matter greatly.
