Lecturer: Today we're discussing the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study from the University of Melbourne followed 500 residents over five years. Participants who lived within 300 meters of a park reported 20% lower stress levels. Interestingly, the effect was stronger for those who visited the park at least twice a week, regardless of the size of the green area. However, the study noted that noise pollution from nearby roads could reduce these benefits. So, while access is important, regular use and quiet surroundings matter too.
