Today in our archaeology lecture, we're examining the discovery of a Bronze Age settlement in northern Europe. The site was found during a road construction project in 2019. Archaeologists uncovered several circular wooden structures, which they believe were used for storage rather than living, based on the lack of hearths. Pottery fragments and animal bones were abundant, but the most surprising find was a set of bronze tools, including axes and chisels, which suggest trade connections with southern regions. Radiocarbon dating placed the occupation between 1500 and 1300 BCE. Interestingly, no defensive walls were found, indicating a peaceful community.
