However, the cooling effect depends on tree canopy coverage, not just grass areas. The researchers also noted that residents living within 300 meters of a large park reported better mental health. Interestingly, smaller pocket parks had less impact on temperature but were more accessible for daily walks. So, when designing sustainable cities, planners should prioritize a network of varied green areas rather than a single large park.
