Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to discuss the role of urban green spaces. Many cities now invest in parks and community gardens, but not all green spaces are equally beneficial. A recent study compared two types: large central parks and small neighborhood gardens. The study found that while central parks attract more visitors for recreational activities, neighborhood gardens have a stronger impact on local biodiversity and social cohesion. Interestingly, the researchers noted that residents living within 500 meters of a small garden reported better mental health than those near a large park, possibly due to easier access and daily contact with nature. So, for future urban planning, we should prioritize a network of small green spaces rather than focusing only on big parks.
