Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study conducted in Melbourne followed over 1,000 adults for five years. The researchers found that people living within 300 meters of a park or garden reported significantly lower levels of stress, especially those who visited these areas at least once a week. Interestingly, the size of the green space mattered less than its accessibility. Even small pocket parks had a positive effect if they were easy to reach. However, the study also noted that the benefits were stronger for participants over 50 years old, while younger adults showed less variation in stress levels based on proximity to green areas.
