Good morning. Today we're going to discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study conducted in Manchester followed 1,000 residents over two years. Interestingly, the study found that people living within 300 meters of a park reported significantly lower stress levels. However, the effect was stronger for those who actively visited the green space at least once a week, rather than just having it nearby. The researchers also noted that community gardens had a more pronounced positive effect than large, manicured parks, possibly because they encourage social interaction. So, while proximity matters, regular use and social engagement seem to be key factors.
