Today we're going to discuss the impact of climate change on agriculture. A recent study from the University of Leeds found that warmer temperatures have extended the growing season in Northern Europe by nearly two weeks. However, this is not entirely beneficial. The same study warns that increased heat can reduce crop yields, especially for wheat and maize. For example, in Southern France, wheat production dropped by 10% last summer due to a prolonged drought. Farmers are now experimenting with drought-resistant seeds and shifting planting dates to adapt. But experts say that without better water management, these measures may not be enough to secure future food supplies.
