However, his plan faced criticism for being too idealistic, especially regarding economic feasibility. Interestingly, his ideas influenced later suburban developments, but not exactly as he imagined. For example, the greenbelts were often ignored, and communities became dependent on cars. So, while Howard's vision aimed for balance, the actual outcome was quite different.
