Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to discuss the impact of urbanization on local wildlife. A recent study conducted in Melbourne found that while some species, like possums and ravens, have adapted well to city life, others, particularly ground-nesting birds, have declined sharply. The study also noted that the presence of small green spaces, such as community gardens, can significantly boost biodiversity. However, the key factor for survival is not the size of the green area, but its connectivity to larger habitats. Without this, even well-vegetated urban parks fail to support many native species.
