In today's lecture, we'll discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study followed 1,000 residents over five years. Those living within 300 meters of a park reported 20% lower stress levels. Interestingly, the benefit was stronger for people who visited the park at least twice a week, regardless of its size. However, the study noted that noise from nearby traffic reduced the positive effect. So, while proximity matters, regular use and quietness are crucial for maximizing mental health benefits.
