The researchers found that people living within 300 meters of a park or garden reported significantly lower levels of stress and anxiety. Interestingly, the size of the green space mattered less than its accessibility. Even small pocket parks had a positive effect if they were well-maintained and had seating areas. However, the study also noted that the benefits decreased when the green space was surrounded by heavy traffic, due to noise and air pollution. So, the key factor is not just proximity, but also the quality of the environment around the green space.
