Today, in our environmental science lecture, we'll discuss urban green spaces. Recent studies show that parks and community gardens in cities not only improve air quality but also reduce stress levels among residents. However, the key factor for their success is accessibility. A park located within a 10-minute walk from residential areas is more likely to be used regularly. Interestingly, small pocket parks are often more effective than large central parks because they are distributed throughout neighborhoods. This encourages daily use, especially by elderly people and parents with young children. The design should include shaded seating areas and safe walking paths to promote social interaction.
