Today we're going to discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study conducted in Melbourne followed 1,200 residents over five years. Participants who lived within 300 meters of a park reported 20% lower stress levels. Interestingly, the size of the green space mattered less than its accessibility. The study also found that community gardens had a stronger effect on social well-being than passive parks. However, researchers noted that the benefits were only significant for people who visited the space at least once a week. For those who rarely went outside, no measurable improvement was observed.
