Good morning, everyone. Today, we're going to discuss the history of the bicycle. Now, many people assume that the bicycle was invented in the 19th century, and that's partly true. However, early prototypes appeared in the late 18th century, but they lacked pedals. It wasn't until the 1860s in France that pedals were attached to the front wheel, creating the first 'velocipede'. This design was heavy and uncomfortable, so it didn't become popular. Later, in the 1880s, the 'safety bicycle' with a chain drive and two equal-sized wheels was introduced, which made cycling much safer and more practical. This design is the basis of modern bicycles.
