Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to discuss the history of urban planning. One key figure is Ebenezer Howard, who in 1898 proposed the idea of the 'Garden City'. He believed that cities were overcrowded and unhealthy, so he designed a city with a population limit of about 32,000 people. This city would be surrounded by greenbelts, and it would combine the benefits of town and country. Interestingly, Howard's plan also included separate zones for residential, industrial, and agricultural areas. However, his original design was never fully implemented as he imagined, but it influenced later suburban developments worldwide.
