Good morning, everyone. Today we're going to discuss the impact of social media on teenagers' mental health. A recent study conducted by the University of Melbourne followed 500 adolescents over a period of two years. The results showed that teenagers who spent more than three hours per day on social media were 30% more likely to report symptoms of anxiety and depression compared to those who used it less. Interestingly, the type of activity mattered: passive scrolling, such as browsing others' posts, had a stronger negative effect than active engagement, like chatting with friends. The researchers suggest that limiting passive use to under one hour daily could significantly reduce risks.
