Today we're going to discuss the impact of urban green spaces on mental health. A recent study conducted in Melbourne followed 1,000 residents over five years. Participants who lived within 300 meters of a park reported 20% lower stress levels compared to those without nearby green areas. Interestingly, the size of the park mattered less than its accessibility. Even small pocket parks with benches and trees had significant benefits. The researchers also noted that regular visitors to these spaces, even for just 15 minutes a day, showed improved mood and concentration. However, they emphasized that simply having a balcony with plants did not produce the same effect.
