The researchers found that people living within 300 meters of a park or garden reported significantly lower levels of stress and anxiety. Interestingly, the type of green space mattered: tree-lined streets had a stronger positive effect than open grassy areas, possibly due to the calming effect of canopy cover. The study also noted that the benefits were greater for older adults and those with limited access to private gardens.
